I believe that the best therapy is the one that fits the client’s unique needs and goals. Therefore, I shall work with you to determine the most beneficial approach for you and develop a customized treatment plan that meets your specific needs.
As a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, I apply psychological theories, scientific research, and clinical knowledge to help clients navigate their mental health issues. I provide a supportive and empathetic space where we work together to explore and understand your feelings, beliefs, and behaviours, develop coping strategies, and promote personal growth and well-being.
I assist with a comprehensive range of mental health problems including anxiety, depression, stress management, grief, relationship problems, and self-esteem issues, among others. My therapeutic approach draws from various evidence-based modalities. This could include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Trauma Informed Therapy.
Therapy sessions are generally around 50 minutes long and usually take place once a week. This structure provides a consistent framework for our work together, but it’s important to note that the frequency can be adjusted depending on your specific needs, the nature of the issues you’re dealing with, and the progress we’re making.
Upholding your privacy is one of my top priorities. All information shared in therapy is confidential, with a few legally mandated exceptions, such as when there is a risk of harm to yourself or others. In terms of cancellations, I understand that life can be unpredictable. However, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Without such notice, you will be charged for the session as it takes up a slot that another client could have used.
The duration of therapy varies greatly and is highly individual. It depends on your unique needs, the nature of the issues we’re addressing, and your personal goals for therapy. Some people find benefit in short-term therapy, while others choose to engage in therapy for a longer period. We will discuss your progress regularly and collaboratively make decisions about the length and course of therapy.
If you’re in immediate danger or a life-threatening situation, please call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency room. As a therapist, while I am committed to providing ongoing support to my clients, I cannot provide immediate emergency services. Always remember that there are resources available to help you in a crisis.
If you’re deciding to undergo psychotherapy, congratulations! It is the first step towards healing and growth. You can expect the following when you start undergoing psychotherapy.
